This palm-sized sculptures, made of cement, are inspired by prehistoric artifacts of unknown function displayed in museums. The small animal and human figures carved into animal bones, clay, and stone from ancient times have various labels attached to them, such as amulets for protection, charms for childbirth, offerings to gods, or objects of curses. However, these are only hypotheses, and the true meaning remains a mystery to us today.Why do small ancient sculptures, even after losing their original meaning or function, still seem to strongly resonate with viewers? This work is an attempt to explore that question, using contemporary materials and the artist's own sculptural sense.
